hello hunnies...

this post is way over due, but so happy to oblige my bloggy friend hazel for tagging me a few weeks back. i see it as wonderful opportunity to share a bit more about me with you, my lovely readers and followers. feel free to grab the tag and play along.

lovely hazel tagged me with the following questions;

1. what's your hidden talent?

i am not sure if it's still considered a talent, but when i was younger i learned to play the accordion, not really by choice but more like my mother's, surprisingly though i was very happy and proud of myself by the end of my course. now that i am older and see how one of my favorite singers, like julieta venegas (above) hones her accordion make me wish i should've stuck with it and thank my mom for enriching me with such talent.

2. what would your last meal be?

gosh, this one is hard miss hazel, cause i am a foodie. but if it had to be the last i would go for some dessert, my fave...banana cream pie from marie callendar's.

3. favourite teacher?

another hard one. the only teachers that come to mind are the ones from junior high, not only do i favor one, two or three but four of them, like mrs. das (math), mr. green (german), mr. pearson (rip) (music) and mrs. carter (math), ooh was she mean, let me tell ya, but i loved it she had a way, a strict and productive way of teaching, which i got. but is it safe to say? i still don't like it...math that is. but still like mrs. carter.

4. least favourite chore to do?

ooh, i would have to say the bathroom. hate it, hate it, but still do it and when it's all done and clean it becomes my favorite room, everything so shiny and sparkly, looking pretty and smelling fresh.

5. cupcakes or macaroons?

cupcakes all the way! especially if they are red velvet. i've never had macaroons, but love to try them someday.

6. one summer movie that you have to watch?

call me a big kid or not, but one i am anticipating to watch is toy story 3. saw the first two and absolutely adored them. it's out now, so go out and have some fun and laugh your heart out.

7. what are you currently reading?

recently posted about it here...isabelle lafleche's j'adore new york.

8. who is your doppelganger?

my what?! can you believe i did not know that word before...doppelganger. thank goodness for google, i googled it, lol and this is what i found out...

so whaddaya think? yay or nay?

i personally think it's a good or pretty close match, since i am almost always confused with being of filipino descent.

this past weekend i received a very special package from none other than miss isabelle lafleche, author of what's becoming a most talked about book in the blogosphere and am so excited to start reading. j'adore new york is miss lafleche's first novel and it's a story that has all of the elements i can relate to such as a new career, lover of everything fashionable and stylish and of course new york, a city i dream about visiting one day. but to find out more of what incites the pages of j'adore, just go here.

hello hunnies ^-^

i have some extremely great news to share with you all. i am so elated that one of my storms and hurdles is finally over. i haven't talked about it much but i did mention here before and finally can say i am back in the work field

hallelujah, thank you God for helping me jump this hurdle and for blessing me with the most loving, gracious and wonderful friends this girly could ever ask for. without You and my bestie Sandra this would not be possible and is therefore that i am forever grateful for this day in time, when i know how tough it has been to find a job and know that there are many others in the same situation. i trust in You Lord that you will guide them as well to their own piece of mind and forsee them jumping in joy and praising You for Your guidance and always being there.

so with this much said....

I LOVE YOU SANDRA!

i will and cannot ever thank you enough for being there for me and helping me every step of the way in realizing this job opportunity.

God is GREAT and so are you!

hunnies i hope you can imagine my relief and happiness with the awesome news i just received a couple days ago.

i see toys in my near future, come monday to be exact and wonder if my desk will look something like the one above.

after these exciting news my hubby and i gathered up with our friends at their home for lakers finals viewing and shared with them our joy for my new job venture and they couldn't be more happier for me. my girlies Ana and Joanne fixed up some margaritas and toasted to me and my new job and wished me the best of luck which truly touched my heart and felt so loved. i am forever grateful for having all these wonderful and supportive people in my life who i can call friends and most of all my hubby for not ever pressuring me in those tough times.

God bless my angel in heaven, hubby, besties, family and you all reading my humble blog.

{grandpa larry}

today while picking up some sandwiches at Subway, my grandpa Larry came into mind.

oh how i treasure my times spent with him. he has since passed many years ago, but our moments

together are not far from my heart and mind. those moments together with both my grandpa Larry and grandma Ramona were few but very sweet and memorable. memories that i still remember till this day and make me so happy to be able to share a bit of those with you today.

grandpa Larry (rip) was a tall and handsome man with the most beautiful and soft green eyes i've ever seen. a gentle soul and very wise man he was.

one of the memories i treasure and that came into play this afternoon...

was the time when he, grandma Mona and i went to have breakfast at a restaurant. even the flashback of this time is still vivid in my mind...

i can see my grandpa Larry being the gentleman as he always was, no matter the place or occasion. sitting tall and proud like a true service man he once was.

once we've placed our order and waited for our waitress to return...

it was then when he shared and instilled in me a lifelong lesson i remember each time i'm at a restaurant and even when at a fast food venue. he said to me the following...

"mija...whenever you're at a restaurant, no matter how old your waitress is, young or old, always ask her and thank her with a Miss"

so today while at Subway, i refered back to that good ol' statement from

grandpa Larry and i did thank the young lady behind the cash register by saying

"thank you Miss"

and thought of him, my Grandpa Larry.

i am so proud of the man and wonderful grandfather he was to me. grateful for having a grandpa who loved me so and cared so much to teach me the prim and proper way to respect not only my elders but those younger than i.

i miss you so and wish we could go back to those times when it was

you, grandma Mona and i. love you very much and will never forget you. i know it's early, but Happy Grandpa's Day in heaven ♥}

... about purple hues

when i was younger, my favorite color was purple. whatever happened to those days i ask myself time and time again. so viewing all these lovely images brings back that rush and also reminds me how much i loved purple, especially the softer hues like lilac or lavender so much so that it was the color i chose for my damas (similar to bridesmaids) dresses for my quinceneara (similar to a sweet 16).

now i so want to hone a beautiful and gorgeous flowy and flouncy lilac dress, throw a fanciful party with tasty treats to match and rest awhile in the lusciousness and gorgeousness purple furnishings and throws can transpire.

hello hunnies...

first posting after a busy weekend and week start. don't mean to be posting sporadically here, but you know how that is when life sometimes grabs you and you just can't help it.

anyhow, hope each one of you had a fabulous and fun weekend out there. mine was great got lots done and still had time to have some fun with friends and new ones. i may just post some photos later on today.

now moving forward to my video of the week, this one is a very special one. unfortunately i was not able to find a music code for the same, so last week's jazzy tune pick of the week from the talented and gorgeous Melody Gardot will remain in my kitty player for another week for our listening pleasure since alot of us really liked and enjoyed it.

hope you feel the same way about my pick this week. i'm a trance and dance music addict in case i haven't told you, so while listening to my iPod during laundry last weekend "Keep Faith" came about amongst my Dresden & Johnston's podcast. i am touched by the lyrics of "Keep Faith" and feel that it's a very deep, moving, motivational and spiritual song for this day in time. "Keep Faith's" video was especially produced for the earthquake victims of Haiti to help raise awareness, bring donations to the American Red Cross and bring hope.

i crave and yearn to recreate a little space in my bedroom just for me. a little corner space with a magical and gorgeous touch where i won't mind sitting at each time i need to pretty up for a fancy date with my honey-loving babe or a fun girl's night out with my besties.

these are all pretty, stunning, glamorous and gorgeous vanity inspirations i am coveting till the day i can make it come true. oh how lovely it would be to adorn any one of these beauties with pretty perfume bottles, soft and fabulous looking flowers, beautiful patterned trays to rest my jewels of the day to make each "sitting-pretty" rendezvous a delightful one.

hello hunnies...

beautiful jazz music and a glass of your favorite bubbly or even a tub full on a cold and rainy May day is what i feel is the most soothing.

i heard this song before...Baby I'm a Fool by Melody Gardot and recently saw the video playing while sitting waiting for our movie to play at the movie theatre. instantly i thought what a gorgeous black and white video to such a lovely melodic song. Melody is just stunning with an amazing, beautiful and soothing voice. love the way her hair is done up in this video and am thinking of having my hair done the same way for an upcoming family function.

enjoy the video...i've also updated my "hello kitty" player with the same song in it's acoustic and live version.

when looking up this video with YouTube i read the following in a commentary that i did not know about Melody before...

"Before Melody was a professional singer she was an art student in Philly where she was hit by a car riding her bicycle. Her injuries were extensive, and affected her brain and motor skills. Left her eyes sensitive to light. Hence the sunglasses. As part of her physical therapy she took up music. And the rest is history."

hola hunnies! happy Saturday!!

as i am greeting you i can hear live mariachi music outside my window. must be my neighbor's birthday or their young daughter's first communion.

as i hear the mariachi strumming and singing "las mananitas" to their patrons and to moi (for free) it reminds me of how lovely it is to be serenaded by a mariachi. a serenata is a form of flattery and honor and men in the old days especially in old mexican movies would cater to their dama (lady) by gathering a band like a mariachi and sing beautiful songs of love and affection or to apologize for something they may have done to trouble their dama.

have you ever been serenaded? i have, when i was in my teens one time during my summer vacation in mexico. only it wasn't in form of a mariachi but via cassette (remember those) from my suitor's truck's tape player. was i flattered, heck yeah i was and will never forget it. not a happy outcome, but still a sweet and loving touch and memory.

what's behind the mask you may ask...

spoke with my niece "c" recently and we talked about her upcoming quinceneara aka sweet 16 in the latter part of summer. she told me "tia, you're gonna have to wear a mask. everybody is gonna have to wear one and you'll have to wear it till midnight". i of course am smitten about the mask idea. i have always been intrigued with the concept of a mask in particular a masquerade ball mask. so i told her "no problema" and am happy and excited to oblige.

my mind is wondering with all the beautiful and gorgeous masks out there and am shooting towards something shiny and sparkly in maybe gold, black, silver or even something lacy or a mask on a stick. what do you hunnies think? have you ever attended a masquerade soire? what kind of mask did you wear?

this week and in particular i am loving anything by Jes, a favorite singer of mine and dubbed as the "Queen of Rocktronica". she is also a songwriter and record producer. have you heard of her? it was and still is a "love at first hearing" since i first heard her singing "As The Rush Comes" which till this day remains a favorite song of mine with American progressive house group Motorcycle. other favorite songs of mine by Jes include Ghost, Imagination, My Love and her remake of The Cure's Lovesong and video i am sharing with you below. i love this video, Jes looks AWESOME as always, you'll notice her tattoo, i love it too. look at her makeup and the way her hair is styled, love that too. hope you enjoy the video and maybe even love her voice and lyrics enough to follow her music.

happy post mother's day weekend, especially to my mommy friends, readers and followers. i hope your mommy's day was to your heart's delight and that you felt extra loved and pampered.

part of my mother's day was spent at the Pasadena Rose Bowl "enormous" Flea Market. for the longest i have been yearning to trek this flea market, that only comes once a month, and this month it fell on Mother's Day. it was kind of a gloomy day but fair enough to stroll the aisles upon aisles of hidden treasures. there was so much to see and rummage through from shabby chicness furniture, old record players, and lotsa-lotsa vintage wear, shoes, bags and accessories which was the other reason i made it a must to visit yesterday in hopes of finding something to wear for my upcoming Grease Sing-A-Long concert. but no poodle skirt and/or a prom dress in sight, but did find a lead, so hopefully that'll be fruitful.

well anyhow...

as much as i tried to complete my Sunday post last night after Mother's Day dinner, i just couldn't, i ran out of time after gathering and editing my wonderous flea market journey photos, alas i did, and instead of posting one photo after the other, i thought i do a little slideshow for you and i. my camera's battery exhausted in the middle of my visit and couldn't take anymore pictures as i would have like to, to show you more of the treasures i fell in love with.

Happy Sunday Hunnies!

what kind of Sunday love are you having?

my Sunday kind of Love has been the sweetest

just got back home a while ago from what {almost} felt like an 8 hour shift at work, but only i got to lounge outside and enjoy the fabulous and delicious weather we had today in Southern California, nice and sunny with cool winds and breezes under the trees at the famous and sensational Hollywood Bowl. Hollywood Bowl's Summer 2010 tickets went on sale this morning and for that you had to get in line super early for your save my spot "wristband". i got there at about 7:30 and people were already lined up from what i heard since 5 a.m.! thank goodness i went prepared with my coffee in hand, ipod, camera, my glossy and current read, plus my celly to twitter my adventure, he he.

here is some of my crowd (above), the afficionados shootin' the breeze with plenty of reading materials and snacks in tow, no long faces, all happy we were part of the 500 wristbands for first come first serve tickets.

YAY!!! GREASE IS THE WORD!!!

you know that movie right? Yup, one of my all-time favorites, i am so excited!

pardon me while i tune up my vocal chords, lol

while waiting for my wristband number to be called i did a little sightseeing inside the Bowl's souvenir shop and couldn't resist their amazing pre-summer sale discounts on music, dvd's, books, etc. walked out with Faces of Sunset Boulevard, A Portrait of Los Angeles, what i like to call a perfect picture book for your coffee table and a new and a little different for me, music by Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins, have you heard of them? like i said, i couldn't resist plus i'm a sucker for cute packaging and this time the singer and her dress style looked pretty cute to me, plus-plus only 3 bucks and the book was less than 10 buckaroos.

and finally...some more added Sizzle to my Sunday Lovin'

is the inspiring message i read on a tee yesterday while web browsing urban outfitters and reminded me how true riding a bike can be a fun way to calm and destress yourself. i still remember fondly my hubby and i's mini vacay to newport beach in orange county, we had so much fun, the weather was nice and perfect for us to rent a couple bikes to ride along the beaches sidewalk and view all of the beautiful beach homes. can't wait to go back.

i just hope next time we go to newport we can ride on a double-seater, i'll ride shotgun and let my hubby do the pedaling, ha ha

...about this round sphere we call a disco ball that quite fascinates me in every way. can't quite point my finger at it, well maybe i could if i see one, but mentally don't quite get it. whatever it may be i am enamored by it and it's beautiful and amazing reflection it creates with it's abundant mirror surface and also love how it can be used in many more ways than one.

yesterday after receiving an email from a friend letting me know how much she liked and recommended that i see La Mission and to support it's independency i eagerly took her suggestion and made it a movie date with my hubby. because not only do i love movies, but i always look forward to new and fresh outlooks you get from independent films.

La Mission stars Benjamin Bratt as the main and leading actor in this film. you may recognize him from Traffic or Sandra Bullock's sidekick in Miss Congeniality, but never have i been more intrigued with his work till last night in his portrayal of Che Rivera in this gripping, compelling and compassionate movie. it's storyline is based in the colorful Mission District in San Francisco about a father and son coming to terms after a deep secret is found out but not before breaking down emotionally and physically to realize that family is still family no matter what.

La Mission is Benjamin's first starring role for the new production company he has formed with his brother Peter, a talented new director.

my review, comments and or post may not give enought credit to La Mission as much as it should, but do i recommend it? yes, i do. i thought it was well casted after viewing and feeling the chemistry between the cast and every actor lived up to the role they were assigned.

i know just a few days ago i posted my photo inspiration found in Matt Schwartz's polaroid shots of his version of the pin-up girl. late last night i stumbled upon more of the same style of photos, but this time from Tim Melideo via Fashion Served. i am also loving Tim's photo effects used in these shots which give them the old and retro feeling as if these photos have been stored for decades. i guess you can say i am being a bit conspicuous in my love for the era of the pin-up girl and would love it even more if i could ever pull of this look for my own photo fun and pleasure.

Sex in the City 2 cannot get here any sooner, it seems like it's been forever since the first installment, i even read there may be a 3rd, let's cross our fingers shall we?!

i feel that the lovely and ultra hip Posh is the reason why we have to thank for bringing this gorgeous coif back, cause when she did, she brought it "sexy back" style, re-vamped, sleek and edgy. she is exactly why i chopped off my hair a few years back. my hair now is longer, past my shoulders cause i want so much to do the natural wave look and/or create some even more bouncier and soft curls for Spring and Summer, then maybe i'll return to the bob which flatters all face shapes and which seems to be lingering season after season.

i can't help to feel that my long tresses will desipate after i go in for a trim and look something like Anne Hathaway which i still find cute and pretty and can still get the look i want for this Summer.

i'm in a "springy bathroom" mood right now and i am gravitating more towards softer shades, okay well maybe just a bit of both like the pop of bold yellows and oranges (above) to match with our tropical bed set, but can't help myself with the serene and tranquil feeling i am getting when i see how beautifully the blushing shades of green and yellow will be suitable for this season and/or the next.

i am so happy Friday is finally here. why? well because i get to post about something we all love, flowers, right? flowers always seems to make things just right with their abundance of choices in colors and shapes.

i know not only do they brighten my day when i receive some or buy some for myself, but i also love how they add cheer to my home.

so without further ado...

today i bring you another form of flowers that i am sure will tickle you pink. maybe you've seen them around or already in the know about them, but i don't mind cause i know i've ran across their images before and was awestruck when i first saw them. i am referring to these gorgeous and fabulous looking brooch bouquets. i dont know about you, but i would sure love to have me one at least just to display on my dresser and swoon over anytime i like and ...

Ms. Amanda Heer is the lovely brooch bouquet designer of all these exquisite gems to treasure for years and years. she brings these bouquets together with the help of course by her customers who provide her with their favorite pins and brooches. i either need to hurry and rummage through my collection and if not enough go on a scavenger hunt just to have Ms. Heer whip up one of these divine bouquets for me.

{getting some} fun out of life...

with wonderful friends for movie time in the city...Los Angeles

these are some photos from last weekend on Saturday. got together with some friends and they're - always so sweet - daughters for a movie, Clash of the Titans. our movie date turned out to be a fun-filled day and evening with movies, dining and bowling at the end.

Los Angeles, my birthplace has changed dramatically in the last few years and i am loving it. there is so much to see and do. i don't get to visit L.A. that often, so i brought our camera with me for some photo fun. we were in the epicenter of it all, i'd like to say...L.A. Live..."the place to dine, play and stay in Los Angeles" also home to the Staples Center arena the home to our four professional sports teams (Lakers, Clippers, Sparks and Kings) and venue to concerts, award shows and major events such as Michael Jackson's memorial service last July.

my photos in review...

high rise living near L.A. Live; crossing street to meet up with friends; a little WingStop action before heading to the movies, yummy, our first time, i swear the bean sauce tasted like beer, but still good, there was a hockey match going on inside the Staples Center; Nokia Plaza has some of the best eateries in its court and surrounding area such as the Yard House where i've had their yummy chicken nachos and Boca at the Conga Room who has the best and freshest tasting ceviche ever, it even comes with popcorn! stay afterwards for some salsa dancing and/or anything playing by they're dj. i have yet to try Flemings, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Katsuya and i so wanna dine at Rosa Mexicano for my birthday; after Clash of the Titans we then headed south of this bustling city to La Carreta (the carriage) for some of the best tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. before heading back home in the valley for some bowling action. my hubby was the winner, but truly we were all winners cause we all enjoyed our time together and shared lotsa laughs in good company and food.

as much as i would love to do baths, i don't and i don't know why,

i had a white bunny rabbit as a pet when i was a young girl.

i think so, but it can be better if i just exercise more

Le Moulin de la Galette ~ 1876

am i an old soul trapped in this body of mine? i say so or maybe just a lover of fine art as that by French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. never did i know that Le Moulin de la Galette oil painting above was a Renoir. i've seen it so many times and have always been mesmerized by it. hello my sweets...

i have been aloof for the past few days. i've been busy much with my job search to no avail, but i'm sure something will come in due time.

also, i'd been thinking about my bloggy {getting some} fun out life...on how i can improve it enough to meet my delight and yours as well. you see, there are so many things in life and in general that touch and inspire me. lately though, by the looks of my recent posts you may think fashion is my only inspiration, but that is not so. as much as i love fashion, and i cannot stress that enough, it is not my only source of inspiration. i am inspired by many other elements such as (and not necessarily in this order) art, decor, music, movies, television, photography, travel, reading, anything and all that makes life beautiful and so with that said, i am re-inventing this bloggy of mine to demonstrate those such delights and loves in life that fancy me in more ways than one.

so, this past weekend after racking my brain and with some time to kill i went ahead and made some changes and moving around in {getting some} fun out of life (which is still a work in progress) all thanks to the new and improved Blogger {in draft} feature. i've even created a new blog to feature my love for fashion. i hope you like what you see so far and that you visit my le passion for fashion, i'd like to know what you think and just in case you haven't noticed, i also have a love for cooking, please visit me at What's Cookin' Liz?, which i will soon be updating with Blogger in draft.

Yay! Spring is finally here...well at least not until tomorrow. nevertheless i am happy it is officially a few hours away. no more gray skies or cold weather just nice clear skies and wonderful sunny weather.

time to put away our warm coats, gloves, scarves and boots

and bring out

our flowy skirts and dresses and cork wedges and open toe pumps

see i am not kidding when i say i keep seeing them everywhere. just last night when i could'nt fall asleep i grabbed one of my glossies which i hadn't looked through and found more Trench Coat Love...

the one up top is from Bebe's Spring 2010 Collection and has just about the same ruched styling as my Burberry Prorsum's picks as posted yesterday and the bottom one in khaki with a stripe-y twist is cute and it's from Jean Paul Gaultier for Target...both are pocket friendly affordable.

i do not own a trench coat and have been wanting one for the longest...

i've been seeing it everywhere around the web and all over inside magazines and can't help myself by wanting it more and more each time i do. just look at it, isn't it GORGEOUS?!

for re-inventing their classic trench as if it wasn't nice already, but this new version i am LOVING even more with all it's twists and knots epaulettes creating a padded shoulder effect so pretty and feminine.

i recently came across these illustrations by Visual Artist, Jeremiah Ketner and was instantly swooned over by his amazing and intricate illustrations and paintings on wood. so beautiful, dreamy, playful, feminine and pretty.

Ketner's painting inspirations comes from Japanese aesthetics, packaging design, magazine ads and urban graffiti. He has exhibited his works in big cities like Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Houston, Detroit and all over the mid-west.

happy monday! how was your weekend?

hope it was all fun and dandy for you.

i know it's not Sunday, so i don't mean to throw you off wth the title of my post. just having a little fun with a little "getting to know me" questionnaire hosted by Ms Keely over at MannLand5. so join in the fun, there is still time and link up at Keely's and read others fun responses.

2. Who do you think is cleaner..men or women?

well, i think i can only answer for my man

whom i need to pick up after sometimes, but he tries his best

cause i can be a little of a neat freak when it comes to having

things a certain way or put away in a certain way

3. Which do you prefer..wordy blog posts or ones with pictures?

i love them both, it just all depends what the blogger is writing about or what the pictures depict

4. Were you popular in highschool?

nah, not at all. just sometimes picked at for no apparent reason...talk about mean girls

or maybe just "playa hatas" like they say now

5. What's your bra size?

i'll take the fifth if i can, he he. cause it may bite me in the tush later, i don't know. but a well enough size to keep the hubs satisfied, lol

6. How many states have you lived in?

just one, maybe boring, but nothing's boring in California

7. What's one blog you read every day?

there's so many to name one, i love each blog i read for many different reasons and because i share similar interests. just read my profile to get an idea of what i mean.

8. Peanut butter or Nutella?

peanut butter for sure. i've never tried Nutella before, but i'd like to. i'll let you know what i think later

happy Friday!!

yay it's TGIF!!

i've missed each one of you and my bloggy. i've only been able to check in for a bit here and there and answer those of you who've left me comments in the past few days.

it finally feels good to have a little moment to post a little something before the weekend is in full swing.

i am sure glad the weekend is here...

today was a super hectic day, but glad i managed to do it all. went out job hunting this morning, only to hear "we are not hiring at the moment", but not enough to deter me so i simply asked "what are my options?" cause i heard that somewhere, i cannot recall where, but it inspired me to use that in my quest. while driving i noticed a banner outside an office building, which read like this..."Now Hiring - Inquire Within" so i quickly pulled into their parking lot and went inside to "INQUIRE", funny thing, the girl at the desk could not give me further information as to what kind of openings they have available, but asked me to go back on Thursday morning to interview, OKAY, interview for what? lol. but again, not enough to deter me, i am on a mission, i need to get a job ya'll. WANNA HIRE ME? so i will be there Thurs. A.M. with BELLS ON, well maybe not literally...but i will be there.

although it's been crazy hard finding work, i was able to at least sit down with someone this afternoon for a pre-liminary interview for a driver position and if all went well i should be receiving a call sometime next week for a formal interview.

after my job searchy

i then headed out for some grocery shopping for a potluck tomorrow...CHICKEN ENCHILADAS...50 OF THEM!!! (thanks babe (hubby), lol), plus i'll be baking a little something too for our host. we'll be hanging out with some friends (hubby's co-workers) for a PUNCHIN' SATURDAY FIGHT NIGHT

i know, it's more of a guy thing. i guess i'm just saying that this time around cause i really don't care who wins and because i am more of a UFC fan (thanks again to my hubby, he he) and it'll be much more fun hanging out and catching up with the girls while sipping on some wine...which reminds me..did we get the wine? lol

yesterday...

was all about house cleaning and dirty laundry

later on was all

fun times and lotsa laughs at a private screening of Despicable Me to be released in the Summer. watch out for it and go see it with your kiddies, they'll love it and so will you. we brought along our close friend's AWESOME n' SWEET daughters E and A with us and they loved it.

the Glitz, the Glamour, the Oscars!

i did not get to watch all of the 82nd annual Academy Awards this past weekend, but what i saw was enough to SWOON me over. i was bit disappointed with Avatar not winning best picture, but happy at least it received Oscars for Visual Effects.

some of the BEAUTIFUL and GORGEOUS gowns and dresses are what made it all up for me. these ladies all looked STUNNING as in...Demi in a blush tone Atelier Versace strapless silk organza paired with satin double-platform Versace sandals.

or Elizabeth Banks in yet another Versace romantic dove grey rufflely with dazzling diamond accessories

and Miss Anna Kendrick, taking the spotlight beautifully draped in a subtle shade Elie Saab gown

WOW!, both so GORGEOUS and looking RADIANTLY in their gowns

happy saturday hunee-bunnies!

pardon my salutation if you must, i'm just in that kind of mood today. maybe it has to do with the cold and rainy weather we are having in california right now or maybe it has to do with Easter being just around the corner. i don't know, i still think all you have been the sweetest, yup that's you, my readers, commenters and my lovely followers. thank you for giving me a voice, i am so happy to be here and with you all.

today i have been catching up with a lot of over due reading of some of my favorite blogs, you know who you are if you got a comment from me today. i've also visited one of my most favorite blogs - and could be yours too - a blog i love to visit for some definate amazing and fantastic fashion inspirations from the streets all over the world...that is none other than The Sartorialist. i told you, i'm sure this blog is your favorite too, right?

and inspired i am each time i visit The Sartorialist. if i could, i would so love to kiss Scott Schuman and his team for capturing the best from the streets. i've gathered here my favorites from last month. i feel like i'm into something here, i am loving the idea of bringing this same post every month and sharing with you my picks from previous month found at The Sartorialist and hope that you enjoy it.

so starting from the top of this post i choose Ms. Olivia Palermo, just her name is beautiful, so beautiful i think i'd name my daughter Olivia if i had one. but getting back to this socialite beauty and why i choose her as my main header, she represents fashion of course and i am loving her leggings, red polished nails, gold watch, her hair up in a cute bun and the jacket.

in my inbox this morning from Barnes & Noble was their latest newsletter with yet more Alice In Wonderland Mania, as if we need more, right? just kidding, some of these are just to gorgeous and sweet to pass up. like the newly published book of this classic story plus others by Lewis Carroll beautifully illustrated inside by John Tenniel and what is not to say about the cover already, love colors and design and gold foiling. this book will look lovely next to your other classics like those published by Penguin. the book above and the items below can all be found at Barnes & Noble and if you're a member you get an extra discount.

was my first reaction when i saw this collection from Maya Hansen, a lady known for her extraordinary vivid corsets. as you can see they played a role in her very heavy metal collection for Fall-Winter 2010/2011. although you won't see Quiet Riot in this collection, you will see more of Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses and KISS. but i don't think you have to be a fan of these hair raising bands (or maybe) to make you wanna kinda SCREAM n' ROCK ON these dresses. but if you do, even more betta.

i don't know if in my real world i can get away with wearing all of these, but i know with some i probably could. i still find them interesting, fun, sexy and exciting and done in good taste...

so, if you're with me...let's give Maya a round-of-applause
